High-throughput sequencers (HTS) gather genomic information on species, creating the potential for large scientific breakthroughs. However, much of the focus of HTS has focused on humans with little concentration on other species. This research is modifying two informatics systems so that they can better support the use of HTS platforms to reveal more species associations and advance knowledge on groups that have not received widespread study, such as arthropods.
