Cultivating Biodiversity and Ecosystems
Cultivating biodiversity and building ecosystem resilience is crucial for maintaining and enhancing the health of our food system, agricultural production and our planet as a whole.
Since 2017, Food from Though has funded researchers to address the big challenges we are currently facing in food production, including climate change, biodiversity loss, ecosystem health, and animal welfare. Leading researchers at the University of Guelph are tackling the biodiversity crisis and mapping ecosystem functions to map all life, support critical ecosystem services, and ensure productive and environmentally-sound food production for generations to come. This research is actively improving how we conserve biodiversity and guiding Canadians to a resilient food system for generations to come.
